Mu’ajjal project is a documentary and a photographic exhibition falls under “Dealing with the Past” project, which is implemented by Legal Action Worldwide, funded by UN Women and in partnership with Justice Without Frontiers and the committee of the families of the kidnapped and missing, the project focuses on female victims and survivors from the Lebanese civil war until present
The exhibition presents14 of the nearly 17,000 stories of women who lost loved ones during Lebanon's civil war. These women take alone the weight of this absurd war, and have to bear its awful consequences
The documentary explores the experiences of five women who have lost loved ones, as well as how the experience of loss has impacted and transformed their lives.
Mothers and sisters whose lives changed, turned in an instant, into a period of endless waiting, awaiting that was not accompanied by a real hope of return.
The film presents the issue of loss from a very personal and private point of view, and how does a woman deal with the loss of a man in a patriarchal society that was and still is based primarily on men, especially during the period of the Lebanese civil war, and how this loss can leave a great void in the family, and its consequences for women Much more than that on the man.
