Biographical documentary about Adib Al Shishakli, Shishakli was a Syrian nationalist who after World War II opposed movements toward the political union of Syria and Iraq. When unification seemed likely in December 1949, Shishakli executed his coup.
The officer in the Eastern Army who led two subsequent coups in Syria beginning in the late 1940s. He became President of the Syrian Republic before being assassinated in Brazil, and many concerns remain about the man and his policies to this day.
In this documentary, we will attempt to understand the dialectic of this personality and its fluctuation, as well as who contributed to supporting this man and then getting rid of him, and why.
This documentary was shot in the United States,Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan, where we obtained rare documents and archival materials.
